NSW set to review how it funds regional tourism

The New South Wales government is set to review how it funds regional tourism, more than four weeks after the industry leader Tourism Hunter requested a more sustainable model.

The board has decided to put a hold on moving forward, while awaiting agreement on a sustainable regional tourism model by the NSW government.

Tourism Hunter chairman Will Creedon claims that several tourism organisations around NSW are questioning their future and facing a challenge safeguarding a reliable funding structure for the future.

The review is scheduled to start imminently and the committee is due to report its findings to the government by the end of September.
