NZ’s 2015 excellence awards up 76%

New Zealand Tourism reckons the local travel industry is riding high with more winners announced than ever before in this year’s TripAdvisor excellence awards.
To qualify for an award, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed for at least 12 months.
An impressive 3,142 New Zealand tourism businesses were awarded a Certificate of Excellence in 2015, up 76% on last year’s 1,790 winners. This figure also includes 398 ‘Hall of Fame’ winners, which are properties that have won a certificate of excellence for five years in a row.
Tourism New Zealand’s Andrew Fraser says Trip Advisor is a good proxy for customer satisfaction and quality of experience. “This is a great result for the New Zealand tourism industry and a strong indication that visitor satisfaction of our individual products is increasing.”
