BYTAP – new panel announced

After a week of industry voting, two new panel members for 2012/2013  have been announced today.

Most of the current panel members are still in place with two new members appointed.

Sarah Clark, General Manager of Topdeck and Chris Harrison, Sales & Marketing Manager of The Word join the panel for the next two years.

The full list of panel members are as follows:

EDUCATION REP: Sue Blundell, Executive Director, English Australia

BOA REP:  Brendan McKenna, General Manager, Base Brisbane & Chairperson – Adventure QLD

STO REP: Michael Sommer, Senior Advisor, International – Youth & Incentives International,  Tourism Queensland

ATEC REP: Jennifer Woodbridge,  Manager – Industry Education & Sector Development, ATEC
ATEC Managing Director, Felicia Mariani said BYTAP plays an important role in driving the organisation’s policy agenda and shaping a range of industry development opportunities for Australia’s youth tourism sector.

“BYTAP is a tremendous asset to ATEC and the industry is fortunate to have such a passionate and insightful group of people volunteering their time to address the priorities and needs of the youth tourism sector,” Ms Mariani said.

ATEC would also like to thank the outgoing members of BYTAP for their time and contribution to the panel – Craig Haslam from Nullabor Traveller and a special thanks goes to Peter Ovenden from Global Gossip.

Peter has served BYTAP for over six years and Chaired for two.

“Peter has been an exceptional contributor to both BYTAP and to ATEC’s national board.  His experience and insights into the youth market and the tourism industry overall have helped ATEC to formulate informed and insightful positions on key industry issues. ATEC thanks Peter for his outstanding contribution.”

    I wanted to be the first to say thank’s to Pete for his help and support on a personal and an industry level as a whole – you will be missed!
