With only 10 days to go until the registration deadline, Independent Travel Exchange (ITE) is almost sold out, organisers have announced.
Registrations close next Friday October 1, with appointment bookings live from October 5.
ITE organiser Denise Jinks said: “With a lot of people heading to Beijing for WYSTC in October, we have to close off registrations next Friday (October 1) so delegates can book their appointments before they go.”
Places are strictly limited – if you miss the registration cut off you will miss out.”
ITE is the backpacking and adventure travel industry’s business-to-business appointment-based networking day, designed to provide a forum for Australasian tourism businesses to meet other operators, canvas new opportunities and develop networking contacts. Delegates don’t need to have export-ready product to attend – ITE also welcomes developing businesses to introduce their product to the market.
Once delegates have registered they can create a profile page, upload their logo, company details and product information (which will be available to view by all other registered delegates) and, most importantly, request appointments with key industry colleagues.
Taking place for the first time in 2009, ITE was a huge success, with more than 100 companies attending. In the post-event survey, 78 per cent of delegates said they found ITE to be ‘business critical’ or ‘very useful’, with 95 per cent saying they would recommend it to their colleagues.
This year ITE will welcome a host of representatives from the education sector Australia-wide as well as the major backpacker retail chains.
It takes place in Sydney on November 3 at WatersEdge, the Rocks.
