VIP Backpackers has announced a change in ownership and management, with Craig Ross taking full control of the business and former TNT group sales director Justin Williams brought in as a director.
Ross, who previously owned 50% of VIP, acquired the other 50% from former business partners Gary Smith, Greg Tom and David Goodman.
He said: “The business will be about the hostels and increasing business for everyone with the right distribution and the best use of marketing collateral.”
Williams added: “The VIP business model is a simple one and we are measured by results in driving revenues through our affiliates’ properties. I will ensure VIP evolves away from the frills and gimmicks associated with its recent past and is positioned as more relevant and useable for today’s hostel and the modern traveller.”
Kristin Dahlberg and Kevin Porter remain with the business while general manager Jacinta Sutton has left the company.
