Director general of the World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation David Jones is standing down after 15 years of service.
Jones will stay on until after the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) in Beijing in October. An international search is currently underway for his replacement, led by executive recruitment company Heidrick and Struggles.
During his time as director general, Jones orchestrated the merger of the International Student Travel Confederation with the Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations to form the the WYSE Travel Confederation. He was also instrumental in growing the International Student Identitiy Card and developing WYSE’s research and market intelligence role.
The news comes a few months after head of the World Youth and Student Educational Travel Confederation Susan Goldstein announced her retirement after 17 years to WYSTC delegates in Manchester.
